Summer Camp Scholarship Program
keeping kids safe . . . all summer long


In Palm Beach County, more than 30,000 school-age children live in poverty.  Without resources to purchase child care or other supervised activities, these children are often unsupervised or supervised by slightly older siblings.
 
National studies show that the more removed from adult supervision children are, the more likely they are to commit antisocial acts.  Also self-care is associated with a number of negative outcomes - including decreased academic achievement and increased risk of truancy, substance abuse and other risk-taking behaviors.
Summertime is the hardest time, without school supervision to fill the hours.
 
The Summer Camp Scholarship Program offers low-income children a full scholarship to a day camp for the entire summer.  With over 100 day camps participating in the program, parents can match their children's interest with camp programs.

 
$82.50 will send a child to camp for one week; $660 for an entire summer.  Contributions may be sent to:
